Ishaan Pilar

I started out as a maker: building drones, 3D printing prototypes, designing parts. That curiosity to create turned into a passion for showing how things are created.

Today, I make films and tell stories, and my thing is simple: I show how engineering and manufacturing actually look and feel. Could be a product coming to life, a factory in motion, or a prototype being tested. I focus on the details: the texture of the materials, the rhythm of the machines, the way a design moves from idea to reality.

My background in building gives me a different lens. I know what goes into making things work, and that's what I aim to translate into visual stories that people can feel.

  1. 3D Printing in Robotics: Grippers, Mounts and Housings

Is 3D Printing Sustainable? Waste, Materials and Energy

Is 3D printing sustainable? Honestly: sometimes, and the difference is in how it is used. A printer that makes one part, once, from exactly the material…

  4. 3D Printing in Defence: Spares, Drones and Depot Tooling

3D printing in defence is mostly not about printing weapons. It is about the parts that keep a thirty-year-old platform in service, the drone airframe redesigned…

  6. 3D Printing for Packaging: Prototypes, Tooling, Line Parts

3D printing for packaging rarely means printing the packaging. It means printing the bottle before the mould exists, the closure that has to be tested in…

  7. 3D Printing for Drones: Frames, Mounts and Small Batches

3D printing for drones works because a drone is an argument between stiffness and mass, settled in grams, and re-argued after every crash. A printed arm…

  8. 3D Printing for Electric Vehicles: Battery, Cabin, Tooling

3D printing for electric vehicles matters because an EV is a vehicle being redesigned while it is being sold. Battery packs change with every cell supplier,…
