Fracktal machines are equipped with filament sensors that automatically pause the print as soon as the filament runs out. You can load the filament once the machine stops and continue with the print.
If your machines does not pauses as soon as it runs out of filament, most likely the filament sensor is not working. Follow these steps to root cause the issue:
1. Remove the filament from your machine and see the printer display for warning messages. If you see a warning message stating filament is removed, then the filament sensor is working fine. Then the cause for the printer not stopping once it ran out of filament will be something else, as the filament sensor is working fine.
2. If your filament sensor is not working, check the wires and make sure they are connected properly.
3. If everything is fine and the print is not stopping when the filament is removed, check OctoPrint and make sure the Filament sensor is enabled in settings.
