3D Printing for Dental
The workflow is already digital. The scanner produces a file; additive is what turns that file back into something you can hold and fit.

The digital workflow, finished in your hand
An intra-oral scanner already produces a file, and a CAD package already produces a design. The gap has always been between that design and something a patient can be fitted with — and that gap used to be manual work with a plaster model.
Printing closes it. The same file that came out of the scanner becomes a study model, a working model, a tray or a guide, at an accuracy that makes it fit the first time and a turnaround measured in hours.
What Dental Teams Print
Study & working models
Printed straight from the intra-oral scan, ready to work on.
Custom trays
Made to the arch rather than trimmed down from a stock size.
Surgical guides
Drill guides positioned from the plan, printed to the plan.
Patient communication
A model on the table is a better explanation than any screen.
Appliance bases
Bases and frameworks made to the model rather than around it.
Aligner and thermoform models
Sequential models printed as a set for thermoforming.
Which Process for Which Part
| The part | Process & material | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Study model | SLA · model resin | Accuracy and a hard, workable surface |
| Working model | SLA · model resin | Dimensional stability under handling |
| Custom tray | SLA · tray resin | Rigid, thin and made to the arch |
| Surgical guide | SLA · biocompatible resin | Accuracy where accuracy is the whole point |
| Thermoform model | SLA · model resin | Smooth, so the sheet pulls down cleanly |
| Presentation model | SLA, finished | For the consultation, not the bench |
